Ethernet
The products of the P-Ex series have been developed for use in ATEX zones 1 and 2. Our portfolio consists of the intrinsically safe optical isolators of the P-Ex OTR opis series as well as the P-Ex WLAN, a WLAN access point certified for use in ATEX Zone 1 and 2. We also offer a wide range of industrial switches for use in ATEX Zone 2. These are from our manufacturer Red Lion.
P-Ex OTR opis transceiver
The transceivers of the P-Ex MC series are characterized by their optically intrinsically safe (op is) fiber optic outputs (LWL) and the flexible input. On the input side, there is either an RJ45 or an LC connection for multi or singlemode fiber optics. The possibility of a redundant power supply is given, as is the choice between 100Mbit or 1Gbit data transfer rate. By connecting a "P-Ex OTR opis" to any switch or media converter, an optically intrinsically safe extension of the network into the Ex area can be made with simple and inexpensive means

P-Ex WLAN v2
With the help of the P-Ex WLAN, high-performance networks according to the IEEE 802.3 (ETHERNET) and IEEE 802.11 (wireless LAN) standards can be implemented in an industrial environment. The diverse possibilities of Internet and intranet applications can now also be used in potentially explosive areas of production and process automation. Security features and encryption technologies are available as well as encrypted point-to-point connections. The device can be configured as an access point, computer or bridge.
